This comic was made around the end of 2009 and is one of my favorites. Unlike the stories in my previous comics where the plot were fairly basic and sometimes highly clichéd, the story came from different than what I had been doing. The plot is heavily based off the Hunchback's Tale from the One Thousand and One Nights collection of arabic folk tales. More specifically, it is based off The Tale of The Poor Hunchback from the two-part 2000 British/American Arabian Nights miniseries. (You can find it on netflix, and I recommend you watch it first because the references will make more sense.)
For this comic, I basically kept the same story but replaced all the characters with my own. Tommy's doppleganger from http://bubscartoons.blogspot.com/2012/06/two-bubs-dont-make-right.html returns playing the role of Bac-Bac. The old couple is played by Bim and Harold the Paper Bag Kid (they're not gay, so don't ask). The Doctor and his assistant are played by Lucy and Tommy respectively. The chinese neighbor is played by Danielowski. And the drunk is played by Pedro.
I watched the Arabian Nights video in my sophomore year World Hitsory class, and wrote/drew it about a year later. I even got the girlscout cutaway gag from the teacher of the same class.
